what i did today

I often say I am going to document what I do in a day; either to show HP what i do, or for myself, or to explain to friends what it is like to have kids.

Wakeup
Change diaper
Drink water
go potty
talk to HP
get clothes out of diaper
change diaper
restart computer
put clothes in dryer
google paper plate turkey
check email
nurse baby
go outside to  find painted paper from yesterday to make turkey
explain to posey why we can't make a fairy potion because we don't have the ingredients
fry eggs and miicrowave grits
draw star for wand
explain to waylon why he can't use Zinnia like a race car or a turtle
add green chile to my breakfast to protect it from little mouths
eat standing up
offer spoon to Zinina
make grits for kids
put clothes in washer
put grits in bowls with butter and hand to p and w
change diaper
hear an ominous crashing sound
yell at kids to stay still while I locate shoes
find safe spot for baby
move posey and waylon out of kitchen
Throw waylon in the bath tub to try and rinse the glass out of his eye before he rubs it in.
pull his jammies off and add bubbles for a bath
sweep glass and grits off kitchen floor
check on waylon
wipe down floor to make sure all glass bits are gone
get waylon out of bath. put on lotion, comb hair, brush teeth
Put clothes in dryer and washer
help posey add more hot water in bath.
look at the clock 9AM
whew

I hate to say it but the day continued in that way.  It isn't always like this though.

it gets easier. Well-kinda. They still break glass. You still yell. They still drive you bat-shit crazy but in different ways. When they get older they roll their eyes and slam their doors and you are dumb and know NOTHING. They snarl when you give them their clothes to put away, they whine as they clean up THEIR mess. They tell YOU when you screw up. You still get to do five million loads of laundry every week. You still get to cook five million meals a week...but the best prat of that is tweens can pour cereal and make toast or waffles-when they learn the proper toaster settings (and let me tell you how nice it is to sleep in because you taught them how). It won't last very long. If you look at a puzzle, say 1000 pieces, this is about 10 of them :( The chaos goes on forever but it changes. Kind of like DNA and RNA replication, the strands keep getting made exactly the same on DNA but the RNA is constantly changing and chunking. (can you tell what I've been doing?)
